FALL RIVER -- The Little Theatre of Fall River concludes its annual summer subscription season with the musical "I’m Getting My Act Together and Taking It on the Road."

The musical follows the plight of Heather Jones, a successful soap opera star and cabaret performer who is turning 40 and decided to start becoming who she wants to be -- instead of fulfilling everyone’s else’s expectations. In her new act, Heather has written new material.

The show takes place at a rehearsal before its opening when Heather is showing the new act to her manager for the first time. Needless to say, he’s not happy with the new material.

"I’m Getting My Act Together and Taking It on the Road" provides the audience with an entertaining musical journey as Heather and her manager confront personal issues between each other and in their own lives.

This production features actors, a stage manager and lighting and sound technicians interacting with the production’s band.

The production features Cheryl Field, Jeff Belanger, Christine Roy, Carol Caufield Mecca, Cory Santos, Robert Perry, Jake Miller and Maryann Goulart.

The production is directed by James Robinson, with musical direction by Bobby Perry. Maryann Goulart is the production’s stage manager.

"I’m Getting My Act Together and Taking It on the Road" will be held Thursday through Sunday, Aug. 21 to 31. Show times are at 8 p.m. and at 7 p.m. Sundays. All performances will be held at the Firebarn, corner of Prospect Street and Highland Avenue. Tickets are $12. Discounts are available for students and seniors. For reservations and information, call the Little Theatre box office at 508-675-1852.
