Those Who Audition Should Be Able To Portray The Suggested Ages. You Will Be Asked To Sing, Dance and Read From The Script.
Cast of Characters
Charity – (25-35 yrs. of age) Female lead. Vulnerable, a believer in love, wears her heart on her sleeve. Must be a strong singer, dancer and comedic actress.
Audition Songs: “If My Friends Could See Me Now”, “Where Am I Going”
Helene & Nickie – (25-40 yrs. of age) Charity’s good friends, a little rough around the edges. Comedic roles with strong dancing and singing. Must be able to sing harmony.
Audition Songs: “There’s Gotta Be Something Better Than This”, “Baby Dream Your Dream”
Oscar – (25-40 yrs. of age) Male lead. Charity’s love interest, a bit neurotic.
Audition Song: “Sweet Charity”
Vittorio Vidal –(30+ yrs. of age) A mature popular movie leading man. Very European.
Audition Song: “Two Many Tomorrows”
Ursula – (25-30 yrs. of age) Vittorio’s girlfriend. A beautiful, cosmopolitan type.
This is a non-singing role.
Herman – (40+ yrs. of age) Manager of the Fandango Ballroom. “Stubby Kaye” type.
Audition Song: “I Love To Cry At Weddings”
Daddy Brubeck – (35+ yrs. of age) Leader of the makeshift Rhythm of Life Church. A comedic role for a singer and dancer.
Audition Song: “The Rhythm of Life”
Daddy’s Two Assistants – They sing “Rhythm of Life”
Fandango Hostesses – 8 needed to sing and dance – “Big Spender”
Rosie – A new Fandango Hostess, prettier and younger than the rest.
Audition Song: “I Love To Cry At Weddings”
Chorus – 20-25 male / female chorus members needed for various dancing and singing roles.
