By Dale Wasserman, adapted from the novel by Ken Kesey

Produced by Special Arrangement with Samuel French, Inc.

R.P. McMurphy, recidivist, anti-authoritarian criminal serving a short sentence on a prison farm, gets himself transferred to a mental institution in a plan to avoid the labor of the pea fields. But the ward is run by steely, unyielding, Nurse Ratched, who employs subtle humiliation, unpleasant medical treatments, and a mind-numbing daily routine to suppress the patients. McMurphy’s and Ratched’s battle of wills escalates rapidly. Quickly he takes over the ward, instigates a revolt to see the World Series on television, organizes a basketball game, and throws a midnight party complete with hookers.
